1yr They all were 1 yr

Also as far as electrical returns, I had an 88 Astro van that I bought an ICM for from advance auto, the new one ran way worse than the original I had, so I put it back in, explained, they said only way they could return one was if it was unused or defective, I told them it wasnt running right it must be defective, so they gave me a new one. I returned the new one to another store. Never did know what was causing the issue on that van, it ran ok, actually it ran awesome except for that one little thing. Never tried to fix it after that.

oh...i had to return a throttle pos sensor and they said they cant take it because they cant verify that i didnt cause it to malfunction via short circuit or something....out with the old and in with the new. i donned on me that my new headers dont have provisions for air injection. not a big deal but i think part of that system screws into my intake manifold. so should i find a plug or something?

Never mind, its just a single hose from the headers to the intake manifold. but there is still the air injection system for the headers though. i guess just unplug everything and leave it?

going to be putting the engine back in tonight and may even have it running. should i treat this as a full blown break in since its new bearings and ring seat (i popped the pistons out).

well i got the som bitch in and connected a few things. one thing i didnt think about was lining up the flex plate and torque converter. easy way to do this?

so i pulled the motor back out. i was getting no compression on all 8 cylinders. i dont know why. i paid very close attention to rings gap position and what piston went to what hole. so now im just gonna order new +.030 pistons and a new scat crank since this one is perfect and the threads in the snout are all messed up.

No compression? How the heck did you do that? Is your reassembly all stock parts? Got the pushrods mixed up didnt ya? Could always tap the threads on the snout to the next size bigger and use that bolt..... IIRC one of the pushrods is slightly longer than the other (exhaust/intake).....

no i kept the pushrods and lifters in a very neat sequential order on my table so i know they didnt get mixed up. the only thing i can think of is the rings may have rotated when i was pushing them back in. the pushrods looked as though they were all the same length?

Could be, I dont remember, I did just look up a pushrod and they dont list 2 different ones, so they are probably the same......

Wonder if you didnt bend some valves, looked at the timing chain install, did you get that lined up correctly, dont know you got that right.....

That would be 8* on the cam tho since the crank rotates twice for every 1 time on the cam?

nothing, i wonder if i torqued them enough? i did as the manual said. 22 ft lbs plus 55,65 and 75 degrees for specified bolts. and i did follow the correct torque sequence

You had 0 PSI of compression?

Torqued what? The headbolts?

Still got the head on the other side? Remove pushrods from a cylinder and test compression in that cylinder....

Ya I do. I was under the impression you cant take a pressure reading by hand since the air will escape between the rings to fast. And yes the head bolts

You should get some reading, wont be alot, but will at least show that you have something more than 0, at 0 you have a valve open, poor torque on a head bolt and it will run, but blowing a head gasket is almost certian...... Also even with the rings not lined up perfect I would still expect some pressure...... I kinda wonder with messing with the cam timing if you didnt bend some of the valves also....... That would suck. Water check your head that is already off....
