Its all sorted out now and THANKS! all for your comments. Wrong oil in back-diff and backlash problems.
The car was still under used-car support so it turned out pretty cheap in the end.

I have a high speed whine when first started and goes away after obtaining normal operating temps. My mechanic says its due to a new fan clutch I had installed recently. Its packed with silicon gel, and whines for awhile until it warms up, then goes away. This may, or may not be your problem, but sounds reasonable for me.

I have the same problem. This is being caused by the exhaust and something to do with harmonics. They have ordered a part they call a "band" that they will install on the tailpipe and move it along the length of that pipe until the sound stops.

08Hoe-

Is this the same sound you can hear when in park. Its RPM related. If so, mine is in the shop for this "sound" and I'm trying to help out my chevy dealer here since we are working on day 2. My sound is almost like a turbo charger, around 500-1500rpms. All throttle related. Not drive train. I also have a rattle in my exhaust they are looking at. Possibly a bad CAT or something.

Please let me know so I can direct them to the other post with the dealership and TSB.....

Thanks Guys.

Mine actually gets worse when the truck gets warm. Funny part is it also comes and goes.
