I've got an 03 Tahoe ... I am second owner. It's got just under 160K miles on it and I'm still on original pads. Original owner did the first 50K and I've done the rest...

He gave me all the service records, everything done at one dealer and he never did the pads... and I haven't ??? every time I rotate tires I check the pads/rotors and they don't even look half worn...

how many miles are you guys getting on a set of pads ??? I know plugs last 100K but never seen pads go this long.

wow I've never heard of pads lasting that long either. After that long though I may replace them just to be on the safe side. My 03 has 60 K and no real signs of wear but I'm gonna replace them within a month or two anyway. After nearly 6 years its worth looking at 'em.

My 03 Yukon has about 108000 miles on the original pads and the last time I checked them they were still good. On the other hand, my 03 Savana needed brake pads AND rotors at 65000 . I know both trucks use the same pads and rotors so I dont understand why the difference in mileage. Mitch.

Brake pad wear has a lot to do with the way you drive your car and where you live. If you live in the hills and ride the brakes the whole way down, then you will wear out your brakes faster. If you drive the freeway all the time and dont do stop and go traffic, then your brakes will last a lot longer. Also if you have larger wheels, or you haul lots of weight, then that can cause your brakes to wear early.
