Whats the fuction of this?

I have a 04 Tahoe and in the front bumper has two vent covers you can remove. My thinking its for winter time to keep the motor warm...just wanted to know for sure. thanks guys.

Man, I thought it wad gonna be a easy question. No ones answered it. I removed them thinking the truck may get more airflow then i was worried about bugs shooting up through there. I live 20 mins from Fayetteville.

Grill Picture

I think the two plastic pieces that he is referring to can be seen in my picture that I am attaching. They are two black plastic pieces that are in the bumber and for the life of me, I cannot fathom what would go there unless possibly a heavy duty grille guard mount.

see on top of the bumper those two little groves? thats where the support bracket for the grill guard goes and the main bracket on the bottom of the guard goes through the valance and hooks on the frame where the tow hooks are sitting
