vortec EFI setup

any negatives to adding the 5.7 vortec EFI setup to a non vortec motor? also what makes the difference is mainly the head design correct?

was it on a pre 86 motor? cause i really didnt think it would work on anything older than like a post 86.. but i dont know.. thanx for lettin me know that i dont think im gonna try it unless i get some for sure its gonna work answer...
