trouble starting 1997 Tahoe

I was going to fix my light switch button and when I took the bottom dash cover off,under steering wheel,it started making wierd clicking noise.I put cover back on and now it has full electric power but will not start.Any advice would be greatly appreciated,stranded for holidays..

sounds like you disconnected something. take the lower plastic off again, but disconnect the vents/ switches etc. and have a good look around the wiring in the steering coulmn. I think the only thing around there is the wiring for the key start.
