Hi guys, new guy from Texas.
Well I've really been looking at the Tahoe's for awhile now, and finally traded the Sierra. Wifes 4'11" and couldn't reach the pedals in the Sierra so on trips it was all up to me.lol And I drive straight through.haha

Been looking for one with the middle console and then read and saw that rear captian chairs were available. And with the Texas heat had to stick with either white or the silver, really liked the silver, since my Sierra was white.

Well my wife suggested to look at higher end car lots for a nice Tahoe. Well after a about a month of looking we where heading back from the Dr.'s and stopped by a Lexus dealership and there it was 04' Tahoe LT and silver to boot. So I hopped out of the Sierra and took a looksy inside.
Well I got that, this is the one feeling, we all know that feeling. Looked closer and saw it had 5.3, leather, middle console, rear captain seats, 3rd row, DVD, 6 disc cd w/ xm, onstar, power seats with power lumber & heat, adjustable pedals, sunroof, tow package, new tires, and a whopping 41k. mi.

My goodness this was clean, ended up being one owner and garage kept as well.

Ended up taking it home the next day. Easiest car buying experience I have ever delt with.

I really am happy with the discision to trade the truck in. I have to use this to haul around my work trailer as well, did that today and it tows better and is 3 feet shorter than the Sierra.

So I thank the Lord for blessing me with this fine fine Tahoe.

Sorry for the long read but couldn't make it any shorter.haha

God Bless!
Marc

PS, What tail lights does everyone swap with and does anyone ever paint what I would call the exterior d piller to match the color of the Tahoe?. The black rail after the rear side window.
Thanks

NICE RIDE. That is identical to mine, same miles and everything.....I better go look in my garage to see if its still in there:0

I just bought mine , going to change rims. LOVE THE SILVER, my 02 Hoe was black looked nice but trying to keep it looking good was something else.

Very nice. Those seats look like they have never been sat in. You sure it has 40k miles? Yes, people do paint the exterior rear pillars. I don't know much about it, but people here have done it and it looks good. If people swap tail lights, they usually prefer the LED types. That would be the only type I would buy.

Haha,
Yeah the silver was my 1st choice and thanksfully got it. I was looking at a charcoal color one before I found this but just couldn't do it.

As far as wheels, I would like to get the LTZ 20's at some point, I had the 08' 17" wheels on the Sierra that looked pretty good. Which I did take off before I traded it.

Yep 41k. haha. I've never owned leather but I do like it regardless of all the people I've talked to that said stay away from it.

I've tryed to search for the tail light swap but came up empty handed. Hopefully someone will give me the truck and year of the LED's.

Thanks for the info.

Welcome to the forum!

The LED's are aftermarket units. You can usually pick them up from a sponsor or Ebay. I haven't done this yet, but the install looks pretty straight forward. As for the D pillars, you can either paint yours or get some smooth pieces from an Escalade. I chose option C and just bought some Street Scene units that look pretty close to the Escalade one's. They're in the shop right now getting painted with the rest of the rig, but they should look nice when they get done.

Nice Hoe. I love my 04' Tahoe. There's not much exterior wise I wanted to change about it other than the running boards & tinting the windows. I love the stock look of the 04' model.

You'll love the leather too. Just keep it cleaned pretty regularly, and conditioned afterward. I have the cream colored leather in mine and you'd be surprised how much crud accumulates on it from daily use. I've been cleaning mine about every three months or so now. I was neglecting them before and I had to spend two hours scrubbing them to get em' clean.

My only other mods planned are engine and exhaust mods. Maybe once the kiddo is out of diapers..... :)

Later, and Congrats!

Thanks,
I saw a couple other of your posts and noticed you're in Carrollton as well.
You don't happen to go to FBCC do you?

Later,
Marc

A link to my Tahoe, or a link to the D pillar covers? I bought the pillar covers on Ebay, but you can buy them from Stylin or most any other online source. I hope to have my truck back sometime in the next few weeks. As soon as I do, I'll post pictures.

L.E.D.'s look so clean.
How much do they run, the ones I saw on k2motors.com that look like that were $209.

I haven't actually bought my LED's yet. I have the rear barn doors, so it's a little more difficult to find some that will fit. They have them on Ebay, but I'm a little concerned with the quality. I might just bite the bullet and buy them anyways.
