Newbie to the Tahoe's here. I picked up a 200o Tahoe a couple of months back and was wondering if it's possible to take of the cross bars on my roof rack and if so how to do it without damaging anything.

Thanks for the time.

pull the plastic end caps off and slide them all the way back off. you release them with the handle on each side and if you stand on the rear bumper you can grab it in the middle and yank.

That was fast, thanks. So is it possible to screw up the end caps taking them off or are they pretty fool proof?

That was easy enough, done deal.

Thanks man. I don't know how much of a difference it will make but with the cost of gas I figure anything I can do to reduce my drag coefficient has got to be a step in the right direction.

I agree. Unfortunately, there's a roof top cargo carrier in my garage that may need to go up there some day. I guess if and when I ever needed it I could always put the side rails back on I'd just need to plan a little ahead although I can't imagine it taking too much time to pull a few plugs and put back a few screws.
