Rke Problem!!????

HI I am new to this forum and grateful I have found it. We have a 2006 Chevy Tahoe and it seems as though now that the stickin' warranty has expired the truck is breaking left and right.
Today I went to the store and went to open the rke and open the tailgate and it didn't open it was locked no matter how much I used the remote again and again. Anyone else have this problem and how did you fix it? Could it be a fuse? I can not afford to get it fixed right now and with 3 boys need that rear access.

Make sure that the rear hatch glass is not open. This happen on my 07. My rear hatch door wouldn't open with the remote button or the button on the overhead consol for two days, before I even called the dealer to see if I could bring it in I took a closer look and found that the hatch glass was not closed all the way making the hatch itself inoperable.

Thanks for your response. We checked it all and even checked all the fuses except the larger ones that are black and it will open now but it will not lock. The rke will work too and even the rke sounds if the hatch is opened. I do not get it. Any suggestions? Would this happen if the selinoid was broken??

So your saying that the remote will open and close the hatch, but it will not pull the hatch all the way down into the lock position?

It will lock the doors but not the taligate or the window. The alarm sounds if you do not disarm the keyless entry but it is weird.It will not lock at all.
