Remote Starter Problem

Recently got a 2009 Tahoe LT model. The question I have is that I got the Factory Installed remote starter and the heat is not turning on. Since it is cold out for the past few mornings 30-40 degrees, I used the remote starter. The truck started right up but the first day, no heat. So I made sure I left the blower knob on med and again tried this morning and again, no heat (both times waiting the 10 minutes). As soon as I put the key in the truck, the heater lights turn on, the heat kicks on and blows hot air. Not sure if anyone has any similiar problems. I would think the heat should be blowing hot air to warm up the windows and compartment area right? Was told that it might be something to do with the external temperature display sensor. Anyone have similiar problems?

I have a remote starter on mine too, and it has never started the heater. Maybe it is a tahoe thing...because I put a remote starter in an Explorer I had in Japan and it warmed up/defrosted the truck. I also have a Z71, and it doesnt warm up the inside either....maybe a Chevy issue. It doesnt make sense to me.

First check the owner's manual to see how it's supposed to operate. I know on the 2007 digital HVAC, it will come on the correct mode depending upon outside temp. Might also look in the section for 2005 since they're a little different than the NBS.

Yea, I have the digital HVAC as well. The A/C came on just fine in the hot Texas summer. Now that its cold(er) however, no dice. Even on a 36 degree morning, it didn't come on. Does anyone know what the trigger temp might be?

Heat and defrost should be coming on at that temp. Sounds like a trip to service dept.

I have a new Tahoe and it works as it should... the important part is to make sure you leave the interior temperature controls on the desired temperature and on 'auto'. If not, it won't kick on.

Provided it's on auto, the heat turns on and my heated seat.

Well, obviously since you have an LTZ you have the digital HVAC controls. So, basically, you are saying to leave the auto light illuminated when you turn the truck off and the system will do the rest. Cool, I'll try it.
