I've had them all, escort, bell, v1, k40. The escort remote was the worst, bell picked out too much noise, v1 had the most reach, but I couldn't stand the surface mount on the windshield. The k40 is awesome, front/rear, mounted in the dash, signal lights for front/rear, bluetooth...The front has it mounted in the grill, with laser protection on the front license plate. The rear is mounted in the rear bumber, all controlled with a bluetooth remote.

I did get one ticket, damn cops was hiding REAL good, they paid it with no questions.

Its not cheap though...around $2000.

I have a V1 hotwired in my wife's Cooper S convertible using the wiring for the mirror and wanted to do the same for my Tahoe hybrid. Anyone tell me which is the hot wire to use so that it comes on with the turn of the ignition key?

After racing 4 times in the Tire Rack Cannonball One Lap Of America. I can tell you that most of the cars are equiped with the V-1. My personal one is the V-1. Not 1 ticket over in 15000 Event miles. This yr the car owner had a remote hidden K-40 setup in the car, I was told not to bring my V-1 and his is the latest and greatest one out there. Well first night I got nailed. (75 in a 70 short story) cop had it on the whole time. After having it on the whole wk. I found the range SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I could actually see my speed on a Speed Sign before the dectector went off. I think the front sensor might of been fubar. But owner just chalked it up to me. I will not drive again in this car without my V-1.

I have a V1 in the Vette and 8500 in the truck. I like the both, but the V1 is the best radar detector on the market, hands down.

I've had my V1 since 1994. It's version 1.2 or something like that. :D I still haven't had to send it in for maintenance. That's 14 years, folks, and it still works awesome.

Invisicord rocks. Got invisicord in both the Vette and Yukon. Makes hardwiring a snap.
