P0440 Evaporative Emissions System Code

I have the P0440 code on my 2002 Tahoe LT model, i already changed the gas cap with a brand new one from the dealer and code still comes up, what other things can i or should i check and replace? thanks

Well if you want to guess the purge control solenoid we be the first its the easiest to get to and the p0440 indicates that there is insuffitiant vacuum reached and thats the vacuum supply solenoid to the evap system unless you have a data and functional test capabilities scan tool because you need to see fuel tank pressure sensor data while shutting off the evap vent solenoid and openings the purge control solenoid with the vehicle running..

i will check that tomorrow, i do have the code scanner and this is the only code i get, another thing that also happens once in a while is that my abs/brake light some on while im driving .... thanks for the help i will post and keep updated what i did and if it helped.

had the same problem when I first bought my hoe, check the vent valve by the gas tank, the purge solenoid, on top by the intake manifold. I ended up using air to blow out my charcoal canister and fixed everything, after I replaced a bunch of stuff lol but lesson learned.

Thanks rockenthebowtie and samotahoe I replaced the solenoid on the manifold 2 weeks ago and so far no more CEL thanks guys for your help it's much appreciated hope you guys had good holidays and a happy new year ..... Once again thanks for the help and advice guys.
