Hey all-
I just bought a 2000 Yukon XL for a song. It has a couple of minor electrical gremlins that I am trying to address.

When I lock the doors with either the power lock buttons or the keyless remote, the ONLY door that locks is the driver's door. The other 3 doors and the tailgate do not lock. The unlock works great on all doors.

What more info do you need? Where do I start with troubleshooting?

Thanks!

Check the main remote power switch (in most cars this is inside the driver's door), it might not sending the "lock" signal to other doors. start from there, likelyhood it's the culprit. since pretty muck all doors don't lock at the same time, it's not likely that individual locking/unlocking switch of each door went bad all at the same time. good luck.

Check the lock relays. Two will be for the drivers door, two more for the others. You may have another if you have a remote tailgate/hatch release.

Putting a finger on each relay and feeling for the 'clicks' while playing with the switches will identify the culprit. Swap the bad with one of the good ones to verify the wires and fuse are OK.

They should be in the driver side fuse panel. (according to my '02)

Jempot:
If the master switch were the culprit, would the doors not lock with the passenger switch, the lock switch inside the rear hatch and the keyless entry? I get the same behavior from all 3 switches and the keyless remote. If yes, then what wire do I test?

Grebbler:
No clicks from the other relays, but I switched them all around and I have the same behavior, making me believe that it is not the fault of the relays. I also checked the fuses and they are good.

Thanks for the replies...lemme know if you guys think of anything else to check!
