I have an 03 Yukon with a 4.8 liter. The Oil pressure sending unit was just replaced in hopes that the guage would not keep spiking way up to the high side but it has not helped.
I really was trying to avoid spending the 125.00 to have it scanned. Does anyone else have any ideas as to what the problem might be? Could the gauge be bad?

Thanks,

Mark

You'll probably get better responses if you move this post to the proper year section. You can do it via the Thread Tools menu above your post.

Thank you 97

I had never heard of one of those. Sounds like that should fix it. It is a bit unnerving to watch that darn needle spike up so high all the time.
Thanks again,

Mark

Buy those 50dollar OBD11 code reader and google the code yourself. Trust me it will save you tons of money in the future and will help you more than those so called mechanic at the dealer.
