Great idea!

I will have to do this...especially since I have the lockpick. :)

Question, how did he hook up the antenna? Or does the unit work ok without it?

Antenna hooks up to the box as far as I know. His has a rabbit ear set up with a big circle in the middle that sits very nicly on the center console when watching tv.

Ok, thanks.

Please take some pictures.

I am thinking of somehow adding a permanent antenna to the set up so I can easily switch over to local TV and watch it on the Nav screen, as well as the rear DVD player.

It should be easy enough to hook it up to one of the audio/video inputs on the Lockpick.

I just need to figure out where to put the antenna. Maybe install a small one, similar to the XM antenna.

He hooked his up the the AV ports in the center console in the second row. Great set up IMO. Simple and not hard to remove if ever wanted.

Yeah, I will probably test it out that way first.

But I would not want to keep it like that way, with the antenna just sitting there and cords showing.

FYI,

I was told them local atenna reception is almost impossible to get while in motion.

In park it should work fine.

I might just do the "portable" solution like your buddy on trips now.

I'll try and get some pics of my setup this weekend as well.

I did hook up the AV cables to the lockpick inputs, but it only shows on the Nav screen. The only way to get it to show on the rear as well is to plug it into the rear inputs.

Another way would be to somehow splice into the AV cables that go to the back seat inputs. But, I haven't taken that apart to see how it's set up yet.

Oh, also, by hooking into the back of the lockpick, you have the same warning at the top of the screen as when you put the car into reverse. Something about checking your surroundings. Kinda a good warning for when your watching TV in your car! LOL
