Magnet on the fuel line??

New to this Hoe forum. Just bought an 01 tahoe last week. On my first full tank i averaged 14 mpg. Was hoping to get around 16 average. I was wondering if anyone had tried or read anything about a magnet that tie wraps to your fuel line going into the throttle body??? Supposed to increase Mpg.??

Yeah, a lot of the things to increase mpg are just no good. I get between 15 and 16 on a tank of city/highway mixed driving and all I have done is seafoamed the engine, some fuel injector cleaner, spectre drop in air filter, new plugs and new fuel filter. out of all of it, the passenger side rear spark plug was the only really tough part to get to, and the fuel filter lines were a little rusty, so you just have to be careful to not break them or bend them.
