the only way you are going to get oil on your MAF is if you over oil it. That is the number reason.

When you make a thread about a product you should include a link to the product

I wouldn't worry about getting oil on the mass air unless you use the whole fu*king can of filter oil on the filter. I'm running an aem with the synthetic filter because k&n seems to be lacking the amount of media once prevalent in all their filters. I've had really good luck with the s&b, volant, and afe intakes for an oil based filter but the aem takes me all of 15minutes to clean and they won't deteriorate over time due to non-organic materials in the filter.

no k&n is not better. i have just used them for years with no problems. you do have to clean them. if you can get one of the nonoil types it maybe worth it in the time and oil cost.

I was just on the AEM website and I didn't find any number for your set-up. As far which one is better that is really up to you to decided. The cost of "oil spray' is very little. Plus when I bought my intake it came with a free cleaning kit and oil spray. I too have used K&N on all my vehicle and Atv's and have had Zero problems. My two cents.

from going from a restricted box and low flow filter... to a larger filter and smoother intake pipeing... wouldnt it be bteere to go with the AEM kit... over just a filter.... or purchasing intake piping and using the k&n filer?

Sorry i know its a personal choice decision in the end, but just seeing which way more people have gone and found effective.

I think we were all talking about a K&N Air intake, not just the filter. We have our favorite brands, one of favorites is K&N.

Anybody tell me the difference between the 57 series and the 77 series? Pros and cons since they run about the same price.
