Hey everyone.

Well i been trying to decide on what SUV to buy. I decided that I'm going to purchase a 07-08 Tahoe. Planing on buying one within this month or next. What is really driving me crazy is what color to get. I really would love to go with a dark blue or a black. But also love every other color like the white.. Also I'm trying to decide on a lt or a ltz. what do u recommend. I would love to have the Navi with backup camera. is the ltz worth the extra thousands of dollars. Thanks .

welcome to the forum!!!
personaly i like white and i went with a lt3 (basicly everything the ltz as but no nav and no lift gate) you can get a pioneer avic z2 with a oem back up camera for under 2,000. i paid 34,000 for my tahoe and 1800 for the rnav unit and camera system unless you can find a ltz for under 36,000 i would stay away from the ltz

For some reason I'm going to tell you white is the best color out of the 3 you have picked :D If you are considering a LTZ then I would look at the LT3 and LTZ and compare the features vs the cost of the package and go from there. Good Luck with your search and post some pictures when you get it

I love my Z71 but it does pick up a lot of road grime and I have to do a lot of clay bar to get the particles out. Love it when it's clean; hate it when it gets dirty. But the black ones I see are a dime a dozen. Good luck on your next purchase.

Never been a white fan, but on the new Tahoes/Suburbans I think it's my favorite color.

I had a white 2006 LT Tahoe, and loved it. i found that white shows very little dirt compared to the darker colors. That can be helpful especially with a car the size of a Tahoe. On average, i washed my white tahoe every 2 weeks, with touch ups in between. My Black Chrysler300c and 08 Denail need weekly baths. Im not knocking black, because i LOVE how it looks clean, it just takes a little more work. For those of us who obsess over our vehicles it really doesnt matter, because we will wash them 1-2 times a week anyways :)

Regarding the options...if you are like me, and have young kids, the power liftgate really comes in handy when you need to load up the back. I have a 1 1/2 year old and a one month old, and my wife always has her hands full with one of them.

White really depends on where you live. In Arizona I didn't know my white Typhoon was dirty until I decided to wash it,,, I loved it!!! I have since moved to Seattle, and with the rainy weather we have here I thought white would be a good choice on our Yukon XL,,, I was wrong!!! If you live in a place with a lot of rain white is pretty much as bad as having black. All the road dirt and leaves turn to mud and splatter all over the vehicle and the white background makes it REAL noticeable. Needless to say we traded that white Yukon XL in for a black Yukon XL Denali. If I am going to have to wash a car that much I might as well have black, but I still think white looks best on the Chevy's not the GMC's.

The LTZ really is not "extra thousands of dollars" in reality, if you do a true comparison feature for feature.

It is essentially a 3LT but with all the options, just as standard. Then with the small things like the extra chrome and Autoride suspension. Otherwise, no difference. What separates them is the 3LT gives you the same heated/memory/full power seats, signal mirrors, etc. but then allows you to pick and choose power liftgate, 20" wheels, Nav, etc. as you please. With the LTZ, most of it's all there from the start, plus the extra chrome.

As for colors...that's all personal preference. Dark sucking up more heat and being more prone to show any marring/swirls/scratches if you aren't anal about keeping the finish like it's a fragile commodity, but at the same time, something like white also shows a lot in the form of colored dirt/spray/sap specs & blotches, grime, etc.--yet, is lighter, brighter, won't as readily show swirls & marring, etc. And does stay looking cleaner longer. The best, of course, is a silver or light/medium gray in regards to reflecting heat & not showing grime.
