I noticed a difference in MP3 players.

Nope, not all cords are the same. I bought a cheap cord from a kiosk in the mall thinking the same thing. Boy was I wrong!! The sound quailty absolutely stunk!!! I went to Radio Shack, bought a better quality cord (approximately $12) and the sound quality was far superior - as good as a CD.

yea dude that monster cable is worth its weight in gold, i turned up the volume then changed to fm and it sounded just the same, CD is by far the best quality with good bass. Fm is the second and Ipod is the third. I wish Xm was better quality.
