The hid bulb is cooler than any standard halogen because it uses a controlled reaction in an inert gas rather than a filament such as the halogen. The ballasts you see in the kits are used to convert the direct current to the alternating current that the bulbs require, thus creating the controlled reaction of light focused by the projector lens in your housing.

cool so im safe. thanks for all the info, i got my shipping notice yesterday and my hids should be here friday, my projectors are here already so i have a week end project :D im so excited.

i thought somthing was wrong

ok back to square one. i expected to be done today, but got no packedge from dhl, called dhl, and they said we never received a new packedge, so i call the company (e auto source) called the number on their website and i get some guys cell phone in ohio, their company is in lomito cali. i send them an e-mail, get a responce that its my fault and they dont owe me anything, i said i didnt even install them i opened them tested them and they did not work right, i had insurance both ways and you want me to pay again, they babbled and said sir we test our products before they go out and they were working fine when we shipped them, i said well their not working now and i had insurance to ship them, so its your problem to deal with dhl, they said that i wrecked them even though i didnt even install them. so I called visa and had them stop payment! will let them hash it out. :mad2:

so whats a good store to find projector beams preferably under 200 please:thumbsup: thanks

edit- how do these look?

I'm a noobie... Are the Denali projector housings a direct fitment in for the headlamps on a 2001 Yukon? Obviously wiring and all will be different (halogen v. HIDs) but thats the least of my worries as I'd be dropping in an aftermarket HID kit.

not sure, but i know the bulb just goes in to the housing and twists tight, like the standard halagon bulb.
