headlights, LED vs HID

hey guys. Ive been thinking about putting LED bulbs im my 99 tahoe headlights. Are they better/worse then HIDs? Ive had HIDs before and was curious about LEDs

Do they make a LED replacement for headlights? I dont think they do, I think the other bulbs are what all you can get? Do you have a link?

Just put in LEDs

I just installed these on my 99 Tahoe:

Did a set in the low and high beams as well as the 4-hi mod and heavy duty harness while I was in there. They work great and are an easy install. Just be careful positioning them in the housing. The LEDs are on either side of the bulb assembly so if you position them with the LEDs vertical it will not work in a standard housing as well as putting them horizontal.

Did you have to do any modifications to the radiator support or the housings? They look like they are really deep on the vack side where the fan is

Did not have to modify the supports they fit nicely and the ballasts are smaller than the ones for HIDs.

Thats nice man. Im really wanting to get leds for my rig but was nervous that they wouldn't be as bright as my hids and not shine as far either

The ones I got on Amazon are 50W units and I did the high and low and while I was in there I did the 4 hi mod. So it is extremely bright. I am heading upstate this weekend and planning on taking some pictures. I'll get a few of the light output and post them up.

Man those are pretty bright. Guess ill have to get myself a set now...lol
