I have a 2008 Tahoe that the dome lights haven't worked when any door is open for a good a year or so. I finally got to reading all sorts of forums and what not on line and have ruled out almost everything people tend to try, to include all the normal fuses one would try.
All four dome lights WILL come on individualy if I push their respective button.
Nothing if I turn the dash dimmer switch past the detent.
Nothing pushing the bypass button above the dimmer knob.
Nothing if I open any door.
Opening all four doors, the rear hatch and the rear glass will display on the dash that the appropriate door is open.
If I pull fuse #5, the lights will NOT work when I push their buttons, so it's not fuse #4.
Tried disconnecting the battery for ten minutes to reset the BCM and still nada...
Having eliminated all possible malfuntions, I would assume the problem is in the switch itself. I ordered one online. It came today and excitedly went and installed it, just to still get NOTHING!
Is there maybe a relay or something I am missing? My Tahoe does have the overhead control panel, but it's not hooked to a damn thing. Open to options, all the usual culprits don't seem to have anything to do with this one.
TIA
