hi everyone, new to the site and looking for a little help. i have a 97 tahoe 5.7l 4wd. the problem is a popping/detonation in the intake that travels out the tailpipe at 1500-200rpm only under load. it seems to get worse as the vehicle warms up. the engine has 182,000 and purrs....this is whats new fuel pump(ac delco) fuel filter tps, iac, 8 ac delco rapid fire plugs, complete distributor and wires, crank pos sensor the injection spider was upgraded 4 years ago with a new lower intake. what i know for sure.... timing has been verified with a snap-on scanner in the plus/minus 2 range fuel pressure 62psi running 55/58 when off and holds.. no intake leaks. what i am thinking is a defective egr or coolant temp sensor. oh i forgot to mention no codes at all in the computer. this started after the vehicle sat for 3 months while i rebuilt the rearend. put new gas and seafoam in as well. i unplugged the egr and vehicle kept running smoothly should it have stalled or sputtered??? anyone experience this?? appreciate any help or ideas
