Crank Sensor Removal...Problems

Hi, my new amigos..question for my "Hoe". Im changing the Crank Sensor on a 99, 2wd, 5.7...what came out was the plastic part with the magnet (part# DR6200)..and what remains is what appears to be a brass sleeve stuck in the Timing Chain Cover, that will not allow the autozone replacement part to fit...do I have to remove the cover to get this sleeve out...or does this part differs from those sold by the parts stores?


Anyone had this problem before?

I think the brass sleeve is part of the old DR6200 sensor stuck in hole. hoping I wouldn't have to remove the cover to get it out.

I removed the timing cover, took it to Autozone for a plastic replacement one, and he pulled the brass sleeve out by unscrewing it with a pair of pliers...just put the pliers at the base of the brass sleeve and turn it counter clockwise...I felt so stupid for going thru all that trouble.


Anyway, the new crank sensor did not fix the problem. I have new crank sensor, pick up coil, ignition coil..and still no spark. Autozone tested the Ignition module and says its good...im getting power to the ignition coil from the Ignition Switch...I'm simply stomped.
