planning on replacing the shocks on my '04 with G65/Zw7 and I was wondering if anyone has used these AC Delco 580354s. found them on Rock auto for $297/each. heres the description so I'm assuming they are the right part.

ACDELCO Part # 580354 {#12476113}
ABSORBER KIT,RR SHK w/SELF-ADJ MANUAL LEVEL CONTROL(G65) or PREMIUM SMOOTH RIDE CHAS PKG(ZW7); w/o LUXURY EDITION PKG(Y91)

This nivomat **** seems to be a bigger nuisance than advantage. I pull a single car trailer pretty frequently and my shocks are starting to show some wear from last year so I'm trying to be prepared for this spring/summer season. but using an aftermarket heavy duty shock seems out of the question unless I can find some used non g65/zw7 springs to swap in. thanks for any help :)

I replaced the OEM Nivomat shocks on my '03 Tahoe with Bilstein shocks and Bilstein replacement springs. With that combo it does away with the Nivomat stuff and retains the stock ride height. IIRC the total price for Bilstein shocks for all four corners plus the replacement Bilstein springs for the rear was less than the price of just one Nivomat replacement shock. No problems with any of it for over a year now. I *believe* the Bilstein p/n for the rear springs is 199020.

Edited to add:

The FAQ calls the auxiliary springs but they are actually replacement springs.
