It could, have had it happen before, can cause a major hesitation resulting in it dying....

Thank you!! I out on a new fuel filter, changed the oil, and tried to take the EGR off to try and clean, but due to my limited array of wrenches now, I was unable to get it off. I did clean the shaft That goes from the actuator to the valve. I also found that the valve in the air cleaner that switches the flap to manifold air when cold, was stuck in that position,drawing hot air all the time so I fixed that. I drove it enough to get up to temp and it was night and day difference, just from those things I did. No hesitation at all when starting off, hot or cold! I'm still going to replace the entire EGR but something helped! lol
