I am hoping someone here can help me out. I bought a 2006 tahoe LT with autoride, about 2 years ago with about 25k miles. I have since put on 18k. Since i bought it, the only complaint i have is the steering has been sloppy since i have owned it. It seems really loose, and on the highway it is extremely sensative and the slightest touch sends the truck all over the place. I have owned other SUVs before and they all seemed tighter. The steering wheel always has play, seems loose and is not tight at all. I am thinking about taking it to the local Chev Dealer.

Is this something that can be corrected? I am thinking of dumping this Tahoe for a newer model 2008 or newer?

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

dont dump it. get it checked. chances are the yahoo who owned it before you did not service the vehicle correctly. have all your servicable joints checked for wear. also ck wheel bearing play, and tire pressures.

I had it serviced last October and the steering shaft was replaced. Still feels really loose and sensative on highway. I saw some posts about EVO, steering sensor and pitman arm, not sure if these will do the trick

your steering system is a solid system meaning the is no part in the components that would naturally be "loose".. ONE OF YOUR WEARABLE ITEMS IS FAILING. GET IT CHECKED BEFORE SOMETHING BAD HAPPENS.. Have a dealer ck it out... if they cant find anything wrong make sure they ck gearbox fluid pressure. ck ball could be missing in the gearbox causing a loose feeling in the wheel.. or turning with little or no effort.
