You might want to consider the instrument panel stepper motors as well since there is more than one malfunction. There are instructions on line for panel removal. Six motors and 10 bulbs are less than $30 and the DYI is fun.

Maybe check the throttle position sensor if it has one. Replacement on a Jeep Liberty solved that very same problem.
