Checked pressure. With key on it went to about 10psi. I then cranked the motor and went up to 60psi and then stayed at 55psi.
I pulled a few plugs and they have oil deposits on them. I am thinking this is not a very good sign.
Tune up was done in July of this year. I get the gas from the same place for my car also(Phillips 66). Fuel pump was replace last year with a Delco. I will check the pressure and spark later. It is currently 5 degrees outside.
Thank you
Hi all, I have a 99 tahoe that was running fine a few days ago. I went to start it the other day and it cranks but sounds out of time(will not start) I borrowed a code scanner and no codes. I have replaced the crank sensor and cam sensor with no help since they were the easiest. This is what I...
Mine is doing the same thing. It does not do it all of the time but it will do it on one hill every time on my way home from work. I replace the plugs around 5000 miles ago but the problem just started about 2 weeks ago. I am hoping for something simple rather than a tranny rebuild.
Because it cycles on and off every 5 seconds it was hard to get the 45psi reading. It was consistent when I jumpered the switch so the compressor would run constantly I get 45psi. Do you think I should put the leak stuff in and check for leaks first? Then if I see no leaks take it in an have it...
When the compressor is not running it shows 60-70 psi, when it kicks on it pulls it down to 25-30 psi then builds back up to around 45psi then it will cycle off. I know my way around the mechanical part of cars but HVAC is new to me. I just do not see why it shows normal psi on the gauge and...
Hi all, I have a 99 Tahoe with rear a/c. A couple of weeks ago my back a/c was blowing cold and the front was warm. I called up GM to bend their ear. They said sounded like low on freon. They were right and at no charge. Bought a refill kit with a gauge. I was low on freon. Refilled to spec and...
I believe the thrid one controls the rear a/c. Mainly because you have the option to buy a blend door actuator for the rear a/c. Thats the only other place I can think of one. To remove the actuator all I ended up taking out was the glove box and the cig. lighter assembly. I took most of the...
The blend door actuator that controls the temperature is behind the cig. lighter off to the right a little bit. It has 2 screws holding it in and an electrical connector. Here is what it looks like...
Just another thought on your blend door. I could see my blend door functioning but it turned out to have a cracked gear on the inside, so it looked like it was working but it was not turning the door. pop it off and take a look. It takes a couple of hours and a lot of frustration.
Blend Door
I had the problem of my Tahoe not heating. It turned out to be the blend door actuator. I believe there is a post on the site somewhere. It is tricky to remove and replace.
I found out it was the blend door acutator. It was located behind the aux power outlets on the dash. ONe screw was easy to remove the other too a but of elbow grease and a band-aid :-). I took the actuator off that controls the air direction and put it on the temperature door and all is well...
The one over the gas pedal controls the direction of the blower(floor/defrost). I can see that one functioning properly. If I look from under the dash I can see one towards the middle of the dash behind the cigarette lighters. That one is the one having issues. I did not see one behind the glove...
I have a 99 Tahoe(old body style) that I just purchased from a friend. The rear a/c works just fine but the front is a little hit and miss. If I turn the a/c on to max it takes a little bit but it will work and get pretty cold then out of nowhere it will get a little warm then cold again. It...
