I just bought a 2008 Gmc Yukon XL Black in 9/08. I love it. I drive a 2007 Tahoe for work . Whenever I buy any car I have a habit of adding on accessories, I can't help it. :) I noticed in rain or when the car is wet and you open the window ,water comes dripping in from the roof line. I was looking into getting the window deflectors to combat this. So far I have added the GMC chrome exhaust tip and a Yankees hitch cover. Do the window deflectors install easy and are they maintainance free after install?
Finding this forum was great as I have used and contributed to a Corvette forum for years. Thanks in advance for any help.

They have 2 kinds the tape on (3m double sided tape) or the in-channel. I just got a set of the tape kind a few wks ago. They were easy to install. I also have a set on my 00 Silverado and knock on wood I have had 0 problems for over 8 yrs now.

My dad's Escalade has the WeatherTech in channel ones and they work really well and were quite easy to install. With the 3M tape ones, the secret is to make really sure that the surface you are attaching to is very clean and has no wax or anything on it.

OK THAnks for the reply. I was a little leery about the tape on kind. It just seems tape would loosen due to the 4 season weather conditions in NY.

I have the in-channel ones from AVS and they are very easy to install--much easier than Weatherflectors I've had on other vehicles.

I too have the Weathertechs - went to the warehouse in Downers Grove, Illinois and they put them on for me (in-channel). It's easy and he volunteered so I took him up on it. They offer smoke and dark color - the smoke he said would be better for my white color with the factory rear tinted and the front not tinted like the black. He said you want them to blend in and these do. The darker ones are meant more for both tinted or a black/darker color vehicles. They are great and I get most my accessories from them.

I have the tinted Putco in-channel ones. Putco also makes Chrome ones depending on your styling. I got them the cheapest from Amazon.com.

I ended up getting the weathertech ones from their site. Paid full boat $109.00 with shipping, tax. I'll be putting them on later this week after I tint the front windows first. Waiting on the tints to be shipped
