Yea, budget cuts. The 08s no longer have painted handles on some models. Although, all GMC Yukons still have painted handles.
Also, there is a power managment system on the lighting only. This will shut down headlights, marker, interior ex ex if left on, and doesnt count for the cig accessory plugs. I personally have left my laptop plugged in several times and woke up to a dead battery.
If your gonna do the door handle mod they make modules that hook into the batterys called Priority Start. We use them on the Police Vehicles so if someone leaves equipment on for too long it will disconnect the battery sources. There are several diff models and options. But a good idea w/ no keyholes!
