why does everyone say the DIC is not accurate, most of the time peoples math is calculated wrong. do you calculate acceleration from stop go traffic, of passing someone on a two lane highway or when you coast down a hill, well the DIC does. i have a 2003 GMC Envoy fully loaded and its DIC is usually 2 to 3 mpg short of what i calculate. :D
Because I've owned 3 gm trucks with the dic and they have all been off by small or large amounts. Usually they get messed up due to a tune but I'd rather do the math myself, I really don't like knowing when I get 2.0mpg with my foot down either.

not only will a tune screw them up but wheel size bigger then 22' will do screw it to, unless they come factory with 22'. nothing to get bent out of shape over, i've owned 3 different GMC to and i loved everyone of them.

No worries dude, I'm just not a fan of the DICs in these trucks. Not too sure why having stock 22s would change the value if the outer diameter of the tire is the same, wouldn't surprise me if it reads off the tone ring from the abs or some other madness that could corrupt the calibration.

Finally made the decision. I got a 2003 Escalade. White diamond with 77k for $17k. Not bad I guess, better deal than I could find on a Yukon or comparable Z71. Thanks for everyones input.
I also installed my pods with the Alpine Type-R's, this is a great setup, even running the speakers off the factory Bose amp. I think the trick is to disconnect the A-pillar tweeters to keep the ohmage correct.
The rear pods will go in sometime this week. I had to change some things on the pods to improve the fit and structure. I have also decided not to offer pods with the dual 5.25". I don't know if I trust the door panel to hold up the loaded pod (the door panel is kinda flimsy). I'll post some pics in the audio section.

I love the Escalade and I know I am biased as I have only driven a Denali however the Escalade is just so plush. It gets worse millage due to mine is AWD however you can get an Escalade in a 2wd option.
