what motor is for what year

help i just bought a 2001 tahoe with a 5.7ltr motor but all parts stores list only 4.8 or 5.3 motors for2001s. it has a mfg date of jan 2001could i have a left over 2000 5.7 in my 2001 tahoe? does any one else have a 5.7 in a 2001 on newer?

Truckguy- if your motor is stock, then it should be a 5.3 liter, not a 5.7....even the 2000 model Hoes (with the exception of the Limiteds) had gone down to the 5.3

If yours is really a 5.7, then maybe somehow it was a special upgrade option offered at the time, because there may have been some leftover 350s?

motor size

according to the vin ( letter R in the 8 place from the right end of the vin) and logos on the motor its a 5.7
