vacuum

so today at school i read up and found out 95 Tahoe's are suppose to have about 18lbs of vacuum... i think and well my hoes is running around 9lbs and ive check all the hoses and what not just curious if anyone else has had a severe vacuum leak?! im thinking it can be from the vacuum canister leaking because at idle i have nothen not even enough to keep my heater blowing hot or ac blowing cold and a rough idle

any suggestions will help
