trying to install a 05 silverado bumper

I am trying to install the 2005 silverado bumper on my 01 tahoe and the brackets don't match up. I got the rest of the front clip to just bolf rite up but I am not stuck! Any ideas? I called teh local dealers and they baisically say that i'm crazy! I have not talked to anyone that knows what I am talking about. The mounts on the chassis side of the brackets don't match what I have for the 05... hmmmm.... plz help

try using your 2001 bumper brackets on the 2005 bumper. from what i have heard the 2005 brackets should work....Should being the keyword.

like you said "should"... we tried many times and many different ways with no luck. they are just a tad different.

make your own is a good way.. lol.. find a local fabricator and be like yo make this work.. haaha

i took it to 2 places and they both said that they would question the integrity of the bumper in a accedent so I am tring to get it done rite the first time and I don't have a plasma cutter or I would make something my self some how.

I seen a red tahoe on cardomain that did it. If I remember'd the user name It tell you so you could ask him.

he did the front end swap, and the 05 silvy grill dips into the bumper unlike the 00-06 hoes, you need to pull the frame horns off and get some for the 05 bumper, should be able to pick some up at a junk yard no problem. ive researched this because i plan on doin the same, the bumper is the only thing that wont mount straight up.:thumbsup:
