I recently hit a deer and busted my transmission cooler. So I'm not an aftermarket transmission cooler replaced it. It didn't connect directly to my factory lines but it came with a Goodyear rubber tube . The other day when I was going down the road it all the sudden wouldn't shift into 3rd gear or overdrive.so when I pulled over to check to see what was wrong with the transmission fluid was all over the front of my truck. When I took the grill out to see where I was coming from one of the goodyear tubes head split right down the middle.so I will replace that transmission cooler with it on transmission cooler to plug directly into my manufacturer lines.I put new transmission fluid in and try to drive it but it was still doing the same thing. I'm wondering if maybe the root causes what caused the wanted to bust or did the line busting cause another problem. I need some help please. Thank you

I would be sure it is a transmission rated hose. Should say so on it. Not all rubber hoses are created equal. Not having enough fluid in the system will cause the shifting problem.

Do you have any idea how much transmission fluid and 01 Tahoe takes I couldn't find anything on it but I added a gallon of transmission fluid is that enough?

Disconnect the lower cooler line at the radiator. Hopefully enough will drain out without starting the engine.
