Hopefully a trans specialist will chime in but I think there is a torque convertor solenoid inside the pan area but I could be wrong?

You have a worn valvebody I suspect......

Valvebody is aluminum, valves are steel, aluminum bores wear, valve doesnt seal well and will start to act up when enough fluid bypasses valve, would be worse on a hot transmission vs a stone cold one as fluid would be thicker methinks.
(25. Torque converter shudder in 4th while lockup is engaged; problem goes away when the brake pedal is pressed slightly to unlock converter: Need to verify line pressure, and provided no valves in the TCC (Torque Converter Clutch) hydraulic circuit are worn, replace the torque converter.)

Not saying it is the VB, but could be a cause, also a slight missfire could cause it, if tuneup with quality OEM ignition parts has not been done yet, would highly recommend it. Also the distributor may have some slop in it causing some misfiring....

Sadly, my knowledge of the inner workings of automatics is lacking. Thank you lesterl. Good call on the misfire possibility.
