transmission help

We have an 04 Tahoe. We thought the transmission Had went out 2-3rd gear went out. We got a new transmission and installed it yesterday. Went to drive it last night and it was doing. The exact same thing. Any ideas on the cause??

Have you unplugged the battery overnight or reset any codes??

Yes we did that. We have a new computer ordered hoping the problem is in that.

Well sometimes by resetting the codes, or unplugging the battery, it can cause the vehicle to run poorly for a bit. I reset some codes and the transmission started shifting really hard. It wasn't slipping and after a long ride the transmission had relearned the shiftpoints and was shifting like it was brand new.

Have you taken it for a diagnostic at AAMCO or any transmission place before you start spending money on parts?
