The transmission on the 95 Tahoe I just bought is doing the same thing. My transmission mechanic told me to try TransX, he said it may just be a valve sticking if the TransX doesn't help eventually it will be time for a trans rebuild ($1800).

Good news is the $1800 includes a bullet proof rebuild, shift kit and other mods to give it a solid shift instead of the slushy, family car shift it has now. I normally drive standard shifts and this smooth shifting trans isn't may style. Almost can't wait for it to go out so I can get the rebuild.

better beef up that rear end if you plan on slamming those gears with a shift kit. you'll trash that 10 bolt.

mine got to the point of having to go back between nuetral and reverse a couple times to get it to actually go into reverse right before the rebuild.
