Greetings Folks!!!!!

As I'm anxiously awaiting to receive my Black Bear Tune, I picked up a Transgo HD2 Shift Kit, Transgo 4l60E Separator Plate, Vette Servo, and a 1-2 Accumulator Kit. I live in NY (Brooklyn) and I'm looking for a reputable shop within the Tri-State area to perform the install. I popped in and out of some local shops and the responses I've heard were frightening. I was told that my entire tranmission would have to be removed to perform the install (even showed the tech the install instructions) or better yet......to wait until my transmission starts slipping before I do a rebuild/enhancement. Any recommendations for a good transmission shop to install my parts would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance.

Thanks a lot for the links!!!! Although it appears to be a straight forward swap, I lack the facilities to perform the install myself and I my circle of friends doesn't contain a mechanic at the time. These franchise transmission shops are doing nothing but letting me know who not to let work on my truck........free lessons are the best:D!!

The servo can be done with the tranny in place. I had to have my tranny rebuilt a year ago. I saw what the internals looked like and I saw the parts that went into the shift kit. I'm no mechanic but I really think it would be pretty much impossible to do the shift kit without dropping the tranny. I had my guy install the servo as long as he was at it.

Did you ever get this done? If not, the Albany meet is being held at a tranny shop ;), I am sure they could hook you up before your tune!
