Anyone had any problems with their switch for their push button 4x4? Today I had it in auto 4x4 on the back roads, when I got to pavement I went to 2wd with no problem. Pulled into the gas station and noticed none of the lights were on? I tried to push 2wd and it did nothing. Then the light came back on but on auto 4x4. Finally it let me put it back in 2wd and was fine the rest of the day. Is this a common problem? Thanks

ive had the same exact thing happen, but i noticed the tranfer case did shift in and out of the desired button pushed, just the lights wouldnt work accordingly. didnt bother to persue the problem, must be in the switch assembly or a relay/control box.

My 98 does the same thing. I verified proper operation with the truck lifted so it is probably just the lights. I may pull the switches and see if I can replace the lights or solder in new LEDs.

Well its good to hear I am not alone. When the lights flicker I can hear the dash clicking like it is trying to shift the T-case. I am going to price the switch and see if it is worth messing with or just replacing. Anyone have the part number?

Same problem here occasionally, I found a switch on gmpartsdirect for 32 bucks but the description is not exact and it may not be the right part.

That's the same one I ended up finding, do you think it's the right one?

Thats the part number the dealer quoted me. The only downfall, after shipping and all I am only saving $10 compared to buying it at the dealer and the dealer has them in stock.. I may pull mine out and take it up to the dealer and compare it to what they have. If you look at the gmpartsdirect site, this new part number replaces a discontinued one and if its wrong you are screwed because gmpartsdirect will not take parts back..

Good call, the only part I have ordered from them has been a steering position sensor and it had a diagram that was good and I got the part I wanted. But I was not convinced with the information provided from them on this switch assy.
