trailer brake controller wiring

I have an 03 Tahoe with the factory tow package, I have the harness to hard wire to, then plug in the controller, but when I do that it does not engage the brakes on the trailer. is there a fuse or relay I need to install to have it work? If so, where would it be? I looked under the hood but didnt see anywhere that was missing a fuse and the legend on the fuse box cover (under hood and side of dash) do not list a trailer brake fuse slot.

If I remember correctly, the plug end that plugs under the dash - you have to insert the wire differently between some model years. Maybe you should double check to see if it is wired correctly there.

The factory "Tow Package" will only work the lighting, not trailer brakes, you need to install an actual trailer brake controller to make them work with the vehicle.

You may need to check the fuse's under the hood.

HELP: I have a 2003 Tahoe 2 wheel drive with a factory trailer package. I have installed a trailer brake controller. It works fine manually, however will not work with brake pedal. What could be the issue?
