I have a 2004 tahoe 2wd that when I take off real slow the traction active message in the dic comes on and slow the ho down for a minute and then turns off and all is well. I have read many people having this issue and most of the time it is the ABS wheel speed sensor. My question is since mine is a 2wd are these sensors on the front or back or both. All the others I have read are on the front but they were 4wd. I just want to know which sensors to replace or clean according to this post http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=29234

Thanks.

the link you provided goes to a write up concerning a common problem with the abs being kicked on at low speeds, which is completely different than your complaint of the trac control kicking on..ive worked on quite a few with this problem and in most cases ive had to replace the ebcm (electronic brake control module) to fix the issue.

When I turn off the stability control system I do not have the problem with the traction control coming on but I do have the brakes flutter(i guess is the best word) when I am coming to stop. Not your normal brakes getting worn out but I think it is the abs kicking on. Would this make it the ABS sensor?
