Tires on a 1999 Tahoe, 2WD

I have a 1999 Tahoe which is 2WD. It has the stock 235/75/15 (29") tires on it, which seem a little small to me. I would like to go to a larger size, but keep every thing else stock. I have searched the internet and found a lot of information for 4wd, but not really anything for 2wd. I have been considering going to a 265/75/15 (31"). Does anyone know if I will run into any problems putting them on a stock setup? Or does someone have another recommendation?

How is the 265/75/15 2" taller? 265 stands for your width in mm. Has nothing to do with the height. the 75 would represent your sidewall height. the 15 would represent your rim size.

The second number is what I believe they call the aspect ratio, and not the sidewall height. In other words the sidewall height is a percentage of the width, or in this case 75% of the width.

This is how I caluculted:

265mm x .75 = 198.75mm / 24.5 (conversion to inches) = 8.11"
8.11" + 8.11" + 15" = 31.22"

235mm x .75 = 176.25mm / 24.5 (conversion to inches) = 7.19"
7.19" + 7.19" + 15" = 29.38"

Those arent the same numbers i came up with, or the same calculation.
265mm/25.4 = 10.43 inches x .75 = 7.82 tire section height
7.82 +7.82 + 15 = 30.64

235mm/25.4 = 9.25 inches x .75 = 6.93 tire section height
6.93 +6.93 + 15 = 28.86
Differnce of 1.78 your diffence will be larger and your height will be over all higher because you used the wrong number, but its close. roughly a 1 3/4 over all height change.

It is 25.4 not 24.5 that makes a difference.

I dont see why not. I have on mine now 305/40/23 from stock. I have a 99 Tahoe 4dr 4wd. I believe i had already on there 265/60/16.

What i did was all this math stuff and then i just basically checked to see how much room there was with the wheel turned both directions from the inside fender. Then since i knew how much larger the other set was gonig to be checked to see if 2 inches more was going to rub. I dont have as sharp turn radius i had but it still turns just fine, im not doing complete 180 turns

OEM tires: 235/75-15 (733x235mm). Bolt pattern: 5x127 (5x5). Offset: -10 to 10 mm. Tires up to 773x275mm. Rims up to 24x10.0".
