so i have always assumed i have a 5.3L 2001 Tahoe but im not actually sure if its a 4.8 or 5.3, im not a wrench turner or grease monkey so can you guys tell me how to make sure. i know it gets crappy gas mileage and thats about it!!! im trying to find out so i can start looking into more performance mods. thanks guys.

Under the hood you will have an emissions label that will state engine size, either 4.8L or 5.3L.

It is usually eithe on the radiator cover, upper radiator support, or on the hood. I don't have mine to look where it is, but it will give info for the emmissions, year, spark gap, engine size and other stuff. probably a whit sticker about 6" by 3"

you could only get the 4.8 if you had a trim level below an LS. just an FYI. so if you have an LT the 5.3 is standard.

okay great, i figured i had a 5.3L due to the MPG im getting but i wasnt totally sure. thanks.
