hi guys this is my first time here and i'm hoping some one can give me a hand, I own a 2007 tahoe which i love to death and i'm thinking about putting some 24'' rims on it very soon but i'm concerned with the tire size for the rims i don't really wanna go low pro since the wheel well is so big so i was thinking of going with a 295/40/24 tire or a 285/40 to kinda fill the gap. Most rims shops around where i live only have 305/35/24 tires so i was wondering whats up with that? if anyone has any suggestions concerning any kind of rubbing or difference in ride quality w/the tire sets i'm considering i would greatly appreciate any help i can get. what do u guys thing would be best? thanks

Welcome to the Tahoe Forum. First a lower profile tire is going to increase ride harshness since there is less rubber between the rim and the road. Try searching this forum as there is a lot of discussions on tire/wheel sizes.

I ride my 2007 Yukon SLT on a set of 24's and Kuhmo 305/35/24. Its the smoothest ride ever. When obtaining aftermarket wheels, you want to stay close to the overall circumference of your OEM wheels and tires. And by the way.....No rubbing.......Good luck.....

24" wheels with Continental 315/35/24 tires???

Hi everyone. New to this site. I have a 07 white tahoe. Just ordered custom MOZ V-10 24" http://www.mozwheels.com/wheel.cfm?&cat=127&maincat=32
the company wants to wrap them in continental 315/35/24 tires. Mainly because they say it's the best tire out there for big wheels down in Houston since we have no snow and that the 315 is really the size of the 305. They say the 315 was really sized like a 305 and that I will be fine. This has really got me concerned and for the amount of money this is all costing I want it to be right. I personally feel that nothing bigger than 305/35/24 should be on there and i will be lowering the rear 2" to match the front.
Can anyone provide any insight to this claim about the continental tire and concerns with the 315/35/24 having problems on my tahoe.

Thanks!
