I hear that it is a total waste of money if you are using no nitrous. Some pretty big reputable posters here have said the same thing.

i would not waste my money... you will see more gains by getting new spark pluggs and larger gauge spark plugg wires for less money than that TB spacer...

Thanks for the replies.I was just about to purchase the TB spacer over the net,but held back when i noticed how much it was adding up to $ with shipping and brokerage fees. That's when I decided to post the question on the forum. If it was worth it I would of bought it.What kind of plugs and wires would you recommend?

I was the biggest skeptic on these things (being an Engineer and all) but I do have to give my 2 cents on it. I bought one and thew it on my stock intake setup. Did a couple of hot laps and I do have to say that there actually is a noticeable increase in throttle response. Say what you will but on my 5.7...it does work for me. Not sure on other engine styles. I later added the Airaid cold air kit and put it on and I believe that the combo really fired the monster up! Summit has spacers for 70 bucks or so. Again, I did it becuase I wanted to throw it back in the face of the manufacture and get my money back...but it delivered and I am happy!

He has an 05 though, totally different animal. TB spacers will work well on wet intakes, ones where the fuel is sprayed before or at the throttle body/carb allows more time for atomization. In the case of a vortec engine, they are dry intakes so throttle body just allows air in and fuel happens at the head. In addition to better wet atomization a greater velocity can be achieved.

Since you are so close to Temecula, we could always throw your Tahoe on the dyno and do some before and after runs when Justin is out there teaching a class in Oct.

i was just going to say that TB spacers are sort of dead technology... they worked great on old carborated motors, not so much on these injected motors (although i am not nearly as savey as justin and jenna) all i know is i will not be purchasing a TB spacer untill i get a NOS set up... lol

Mine is a Vortec. So I assume they would be the same?? I would love to make some pulls on a dyno to see the difference between stock. Stock w/Spacer. Intake w/o spacer and intake w/spacer. It really comes does to the hard data I guess. Ohh and I am very close to Temecula. In fact, I am working up in Murietta (as you know boarders Temecula).

I will check on the dates that Justin is going out there when I get home and will let you know. I think it is the weekend of Oct 10th (same weekend the Bolts play the Pats). He usually does a few tunes on Fri when he gets in, teaches all day Sat, and then does a few tunes after that. His Sunday he leaves open for street tunes down in San Diego.
