Z-71 suspension is a hard riding suspension, IMHO. Yea softer shocks and a softer compound tire will soften up your ride some.

The Michelin LTX A/S-M/S are nice ties and offer a good ride. Also, don't discard the BFG All Terrain. A great tire and 3 ply sidewall. The last of what I call the big three tire is the Uniroyal Laredo A/T. Now before you go off some tangent, Uniroyal has come a great way since the years of the Uniroyal Tiger Paw. Especially since Michelin Bought BFG and Uniroyal.

Yes, I am bias.

Replace the stock shocks with Bilsteins, its only like $200, and put Michelin's on there and the difference will be night and day. The stock Z71 shocks are Tennecos and are pretty much trash by 30k. The Michelin LTX/MS is a nice tire.

Look into it, you're really going to have to replace the shocks to get it to ride any better and the Bilsteins are extremely popular among Z71 drivers. I don't know why GM put such terrible shocks on the Tahoes, the premium smooth ride aren't terrible but are far from good but the Z71's are just terrible.
