I am looking for a 96 or newer vortec 350 motor.. Anyone have any laying around??

Check ebay or craigslist. If not, then I would definitely suggest hitting up a you-pick boneyard. There is a local junkyard near my house that had a 1996 Chevy Suburban just lying out back. The junkyard I go to doesn't let you pick engines specifically... but they let you pick the parts off the engine, so I yanked the vortec heads and the MPFI intake manifold.

I just rebuilt the engine in my 96 Tahoe, the former owner drove it with no oil and it locked up, good luck with your search for a junk yard engine I tried and everybody wanted to sell me a engine that has 150k plus miles for 1200+ bux, I rebuild mine for 350 bux in parts.

I strongly suggest if you buy a used engine that you change the intake manifold gaskets, use something quality like fel pro or GM

FYI I replace my blower motor with one off a 1990 Surburban.

Well I mean, I would never suggest yanking some old 350 out of a junkyard truck and throwing it under your hood. Pull the engine and rebuild.

There is actually a truck salvage yard in Hayward, CA that has dozens of these layin around for sale. I think for lower mileage engines they want about 1300 and comes with a warranty.

I almost got one for a customer but they ended up deciding they wanted a replacement GM Goodwrench motor from my job so you can double that price. Nice thing about buying a GM Goodwrench engine is it comes with a 5 year/50k mile warranty, if it developes any issues you take the truck down to the dealer you bought it at and they look at it for free as if it was under warranty again.
