I was changing my oil yesterday, and I noticed that on the passenger side I could easily slide under my nerf bar... but the driver's side was really tight.

So I measured from the ground to the underside of the wheel wells, and it's a full inch lower on the driver's side than the passenger side, front and back. It's in my garage which is pretty level, so what's the deal?

Anyone have any ideas why it would be like this? Especially exactly 1" front and back.

Thanks

I haven't measured but I think mine leans to the drivers side as well. Maybe it's from carrying my 6'3 275lbs ass on one side for so long. Would love to find out the answer to this question too...:popc1:

hey everyone, i have an older yukon, leans slightly to the left aswell. i found my answer to be the sway bar under the rear diff was loose on the right side, and when tightened up it fixed it, just thought maybe you guys have the same problem? the reason this affects the level of the ride is because the sway bar connects to the axle and the axle connects to the shocks, so if the sway bar is loose, the shock can push the whole axle down rasing the right side of the car, or visa versa.

Yes, full tank of gas.

Anyone else think that the combined weight of gas and driver over the years might wear unevenly on the suspenion/shocks? It just seems weird that it's happened to different Hoes too.

Thanks

BH

BTW, rear sway bar seems to be tight and in-tact. I went and checked it out.

i would assume that the shocks would get more wear with more load on them constantly. i use the rancho rs9000 series shocks though with the rsx remote air ride remote. so i can adjust how firm the front and back are.

Uneven Torscion Bars??

I agree with FergHoe. When I bought my Tahoe New back in 04' It was uneven and hadn't noticed till I got home. I took it back and they said they adjust the torsion bars to level it. The funny thing is I notice most Tahoes have a slight front rake. Mine does not it sits Level front to back.

Cobra, did you buy your Hoe used? Most Hoes do have the rake. I guess that's why so many people want to lower the back more than the front, to even it out. My boss bought a 1-ton Suburban that did not have the rake though. I'd rather raise mine up like yours is to be level. I have read that Ford F150 torsion keys will raise it. I'd just have to buy them, and find an alignment shop that would put them in & re-align.

I still wish I knew why these Hoes were leaning to the driver's side.

No I bought it new Jan.31,2004. It had 6 miles on it and seats and doors covered in plastic.
Yeah but I just know they told me they adjusted the torsion bars to make it level from side to side. They also said they had a factory spec with a range from 1/2 to 3/4" on the side. I think mine was leaning a lil more but they fixed it. I am not sure if this had anything to do with the front rake but, mine does not have it. I have kicked around the idea of lowering the Tahoe but am not sure what effect this will have on the stance. I am running 22"s & like the way it looks but often wonder what if I close in some of that wheel gap. ???
